The next season, Jersey Shore Season 5, began shooting on Monday.  The cast was spotted in Seaside Heights on the balcony of the now-famous beach house several days beforehand.  Most of them were confined there until shooting resumed, but a few special cases got to leave for pre-arranged activities.

I guess they are allowed to shoot in Seaside now then and that was a rumour.
