ceZa Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) The titlerace and Top 4 race is still wide open after both city and l'pool winning their respective games couple days ago. Arsenal won their game and is now 1 point ahead of United who also won their game v Palace. Chelsea beat Spurs @Brap @`Ben but you guys are still 7 pts ahead with 1 more game played. United and Arsenal however is 5 and 4 pts behind only now. What an exciting season this has become now with United back to winning ways and 2 teams pushing each other for the title! I said at the start of the season I'd be happy with 2-3rd, good run in the UCL & a domestic cup, great to watch this year like you said with the majority of the Top 6 playing expansive, attacking football. 1

True even with all the money invested by their fkn sheik and all their starplayers they crumble under pressure in CL. They have such a talented squad tho, going out this early is a disaster for them! Who do you wanna meet in the quarterfinal @London2nyc?

Thoughts on next years transfer window and lineup for RM?

This season being horrible is probably a good wake up call for the boarder and the players. I said in the beginning of the season I don't really care if we lose everything this year as they need to do just that, wake the fuck up and replace Ronaldo/Zidane.
ceZa Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 You would probably need someone like Mbappe/Hazard/Neymar plus a maybe a new midfielder since Modric is getting older and Kroos been unstabile this season. Question is tho if you have a chance at all to get any of the mentioned attackers. PSG probs won't sell no matter the price lol. Vinicus and Asensio are both great and for the future but you need a starplayers in there with them for sure.. Bale/Benzema just isn't enough.

It's not just Ronaldo's goals/assists that RM lost, it's his leadership. People can call him arrogant or w/e, but at the end of the day, he's a great leader and brings an extraordinary mentality to any club that he's at. He forces everyone to play up to, and above their usual standard, and just overall makes his teammates better and more competitive. If you're caught being lazy, he'll call you out on it. Ex: At Euro 2016 QF during penalty kicks, Joao Moutinho was trying to shy away from taking a shot. Ronaldo came out to him, and basically says: "What's up? You take good penalties, come take it. If we lose, whatever. Just come take the kick" It's stuff like that which RM actually lost in losing Ronaldo. Just adding Neymar, Hazard, etc isn't gonna suddenly bring that back. Agreed, I think those 3 teams are the best teams we could get tbh. And true, RM got such a difficuilt time ahead of them it seems with aging players and also find the right manager who the players respect and who can give the result but also the attractive style the fans expect. They were already started to struggle in the league under Zidane but since they won 3 CLs in a row they probs ignored. Zidane probs knew this hence why he left them before the problems started to get even worse like it is now. The worst thing they could now imo, is to bring Mourinho back. I'd rather go for Ancelotti who the players and most of the fans loved. Seems unlikely tho...
