Heard a lot about the 5x5 but never really looked into it. Sounds pretty cool to change up the usual routines though

 

Is it just the main compound movements every session, 5x5 reps, then like 1/2/3 days off 1 day on? Or do u just do it like a normal split and just replace the exercises for 5x5 instead of 3/4 x 8-12?

only big compounds.

 

i only do bench, deads, squat, overhead  bb press

 

then throw in some normal wiehgted dips and then pull ups.

On 5 x 5 first two sets are usually used as weight acclimation or warm up and its percent based as opposed to doing 5 sets of 5 at a certain weight. Check out Stronglifts its a good 5 x 5 basis
