Its simple and basic, If i was you I would render out the images so they transition into each other better than looking like you pasted one on top of the other.

Also change the text on the right hand side 

For someone who "isn't new to photoshop" you make silly mistakes. Take the CC on the chin, and stop crying. You're just giving yourself a bad name.

 

Also, if you go on someone youtube and see "black, grey" its very dull. Add some collour, use Pen tool with a baby blue glow to bring it to life
