Well what I was trying to say was that when the wealth is not spread out it means that the individuals who hold the majority of the wealth are more likely to sell their gp because there comes a point when real cash becomes more worthwhile. So yes its not guna stop people selling gp which is what the OP thinks it was primarily used for, but instead it will mean that there will be much more gp being sold.
