I did because i'm not sure how it looks with or without the border bits. Also, this is like my ... 4th background, i'm the biggest newbie on photoshop haha, so no hate :). If you want to use it, go ahead , if not thats cool to! NOTE : To use this you have to be a partner.

Well i say simplicity is key.

Truth be told I like first one best but just what I would do, take the layer you got for the top black header and highlight about an inch or so, drag down and go into blur, motion blur, 90deg and move on top so it blends in better. From what I can see the header is black and the background is dark grey ish so in my eyes it clashes.

But keep at it and keep trying new things and you'll improve so fast. Tutorials can also give ideas and help increase your knowledge of different techniques.

I used a brush tool to put the blue bits in (the faded ones on no.2), so if i were to take that off it'd be just black. There isn't a seperate layer for a header on my templte, just the background all black.
