Filtering removes freedoms from the forums, unintentionally mutilates the meaning of other posts by changing words that coincidentally have bad words in them... We use profanity in motivational topics. If the language on these forums is the issue, than the true problem is the moderators and the moderation. Not some automated word filter list that has all these negative repercussions. Identify and assess the problem, this is a stopgap solution that almost creates more issues than it prevents.

Thing is, people do not use it in motivational topics and even so, u can easily make motivational topics without the use of offensive language to get your point across.

 

What I want to do is, have something instead of nothing to make this environment an even more friendlier and welcoming to everybody.

I believe your best bet, if those are your intentions, is to get all the moderators on the same page, and get more consistent enforcement of rules. I see where you're coming from, I just disagree with the means, not the end-goal. It was overly automated and thus had some shortcomings. We all know your heart is in the right place Ace, just think we should reassess exactly what our goals are, and how to go about them.
