Insecurities Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I've been saving this question for the weekly Reddit question thread on Monday's but I also wanna get your guys input. Why hasn't Caitlyn been seeing play as much anymore? She's a very safe AD with an escape, and very good lategame, you'd think the changes to bloodthirster making IE the best first item for AA centric AD's would make her more viable, especially because of her passive, sure she doesn't have the same lategame as Tristana, but she can be a lane bully early on, giving her an advantage over Trist in early levels. She can push lanes fast as well and has decent wave clear for seiging/stalling out games. Her poke with ult is also even more decent now because most AD's don't have lifesteal from BT till 30 minutes so you can get a free ult off on the enemy AD or other squishy if they're not running a sustain support like Nami, and put them at a disadvantage for an upcoming teamfight if your team is looking to engage. I dunno it just seems strange that she dropped off all of a sudden because in my mind she's still top-tier with Lucian/Trist being god-tier. Can anyone explain her lack of play? Is it just the fact that Trist outscales her and Lucian has more mobility? If not why don't teams just ban Lucian, and pick Cait and try and keep Trist down because Cait beats Trist early and if she gets shut down early then Cait will have a better midgame. Thoughts?

So_easy99 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Her E shud only be used in super dangerous situations anyway, aka a nasus with ghost running to your face, or to burst someone out with your combo, but in teamfights situations if u go red boots and phantom u can still kite every1 pretty easily to be honest,~there is nothing wrong with caitlyn, her kit is and always has been strong and its popularity didnt decrease a bit for the last 1-2years.. Maybe in the pro scene people been choosing difference adcs cuz lucian, tristana and twitch was so strong in the patch they were playing in.. I wud say they would pick ezreal if worlds was played in this 4.18 butye
Razwald Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Caitlyn really needs to stomp lane to be relevant in the mid game and most people know how to lane against her now especially with Nami being popular. Tbh, lucian and corki just outshine her in lane since she isn't very good against all ins and she doesn't scale as well as other adcs. I think she is good in something like a siege comp but idk. Also she's pretty boring to play. I don't necessarily think she's bad but there are other champions that are better. Edited October 22, 2014 by Razwald
