I wouldn't have bothered gettin merc treads at all vs that team tbh, idk Irelias build path in terms of buying MR but looks like Tabi's woulda saved you alot of health in teamfights

Merc treads was a great buy before 45 mins..  (ww stun, vayne stun, teemo blind, heimer abilities, jax stun)

 

All of their team has cc which most of them will be used on you due to diving in.

 

And Jax only counters due to the blocking of auto's but Irelia can be quite bursty, especially in the early levels (presume thats when you got your lead).

 

Merc treads and Zepyher don't stack however so yeah, once you got your zepyher swap for tabi (or dnt buy zepyher)

irelia passive is really stronk (reducing disables for each neary by enemy by a %) so cases where you would go mercs on other champs you can get away with buying boots like tabis
