severed arow Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 I need a new body weight training program please, pull ups and chins ups can be included as i have a bar only body weight training piece of equipment i got though :P
mr d stroy Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 if you're a man at pushups, you'd start at 5 in(inward) then 5 out(outward) and go up one each time(break 20secs between sets). So it be like 5 out, 5 in, 6 out,6 in,7out,7in and so on, i think its around 28 and in that you break 1000(the man test). or do sets of 25, until your dead to the world. you can do dips with 2 chairs or any railings near eachother or a railing corner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr1svs0wliI . eventually doing dips will make you look like a man lol. Next thing you can do is lunges. lunges hit your legs, and its best to spread out a deck of cards and lunge to each one. That allows your focus to not be on the burn. Then there's chinups which you mentioned, the reps per set really depend on how good you are at them(i dont do them so idk). Mix in some situps and jogging, and you;ll be a man in no timeĀ

Mike (0BR) Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Are you just trying to get lean muscle by doing these body-weight exercises?
Steroids Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Tbh bodyweight exercises are going to tone you more than anything, but im assuming your not big enough to want to tone already. You want to bulk up abit. My advice - Join a gym. Then i'll give you some routines.
ViBeZz Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 pushups and pullups are very begginer exercises and do barely anything for the muscles. If you can do over 10+ of them with ease I'd advise stop doing them as it's a waste of time and doesn't really effect your muscles. But of course if you don't have the correct equipment to do proper exercises on the muscles then just do what your doing but you won't see much of a difference. If your a beginner then just join the gym, your not going to benefit off what your doing now. I can get you a 12-week beginner routine to start off with, and after them 12 weeks start going to the gym 3-4 times a week doing a different set of muscles. E.g. Monday = Biceps/triceps Wednesday = Abs/Chest Friday = Legs/* And if your looking on bulking up (getting bigger) then you will need to calculate your BMR. This gives you an idea of how many calories you should be eating daily, and if you are wanting to get bigger then eat 500 calories over what it says. This doesn't mean you down junk food/pizzas etc. Eat foods rich in carbs/protein. Pasta, bananas, chicken etc. carbs/protein feeds your muscles. It is essential that you eat the correct of grams of both to feed your muscles so they can get bigger. Hope I've helped...

Bullet Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Im assuming you just want to do this in your home? In short if you want bulk, use high weights and low reps, if your toning then continue with pushups etc and with free weights use high reps and low weights.
