Eric Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 True Love - Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection but how can one truly 'feel love', it was once said 'love it blind' and 'love does not judge' but how can those statements be true IF everything we do as a conscious living human being is controlled by 'MOTIVE'.. keep up with me here.. EVERYTHING we do is controlled my MOTIVE weather subconscious or not.. think about it, breathing [subconscious motive, way of telling yourself to keep living] Eating [so on and so forth] so my argument to YOU foe, is this.. how can love exist when there is OBVIOUSLY motive behind it? weather its to 'get laid' or the want to "not die alone".. there is always a motive, thus disproving LOVE.. So, who's willing to stand up and fight for LOVE

It's tempting for me to say love is made up and not real but, for starters, it's in the holy books of major religions in all saying that (for the most part) God loves all of us. Love can exist with a positive motive. Blood relations, a biological push to protect ones offspring, to care, to nurture, to punish, to forgive, etc. If your argument is that it can't be an emotion if it has a motive then I disagree. Anger is an emotion, correct? Anger has motives behind its emotion; whether it's "to influence someone", or "to inform someone of your disproval" Could just be blowing smoke out my butt (a saying which btw has an interesting historical significance behind it) But that's my take on the topic. :nice: Great topics Eric, very thought provoking and challenging.
gfdgfd Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Yes, love should be considered an emotion, emotions are the way you feel without thinking, there is no logic behind your emotions it's just the way you feel, you cannot help if you love somebody, and there is no real logic or reason behind why you love them, you just do.
