TL;DR 

Use Bracelets of slaughter to extend good tasks, whilst using Expeditious bracelets to shorten bad tasks.

The reason I chose to block fire giants over blue dragons was because the majority of people will move onto Nieve when they hit 85 combat; as fire giants are more commonly assigned by Nieve than blue dragons are. Blue dragons are assigned at a rate of 1.76% compared to fire giants at a rate of 3.96%.
