Summoning ONCE AGAIN :|

Do u think summoning is any good for a pure? Should i get like high combat before training my summoning? I am currently 40 attack,61 strength, 71 ranged, 62 magic, 13 prayer and 62 hp. I have about 1k charms if all of them are count together, most of them are Gold Charms tho :/  Please FOE tell me your opinions/experiences about the Summoning skill  :nice:

It doesn't matter what combat level you start getting summoning at, as it doesn't effect it in bh worlds, inless you carry a scroll.

i say gather charms for a while, then when you can be bothered, use them all.

OT: My view on summoning, it doesn't affect cb in PvP, and it is really helpfull for alot, but get charms is boring, all up to you

I've never seen summoning being that useful on trips or anything unless like 80+

Summoning can help for skilling and can be a good moneymaker at higher levels, but it gives you a higher combat level while OUT of pvp/bh.  I think there is no reason not to get it, unless you prefer keeping a lower level while training and stuff.

personally i think summoning is great, coz it doesnt affect ur pvp combat level, unless you are carrying a pouch, and it can greatly help in a clan, by boosting your combat to help out the higher levels, which also makes trips funner.

It also has great money making methods, such as graahk nats, and fruitfall scrolls picking up papya's, but only get it if you really dont care about your combat level out of pvp.

Foe has some pures being combat 70 and pures being combat 100, the best thing would be if everyone would be the same combat. Pouches can help getting the cmb 70 pures be around 80 so they can help at the lower wilderniss levels.

What I would do is just training normally and picking up charms. So when you get rich, higher combat (maybe turn into a main) you can train it when ever you want.

many reasons have been summed up already to get it. i support, get summon.

just pick up all your charms, you'll use them one day ;) .

imo here's the only three reasons why you shouldnt get up summoning:

1) it makes your combat go up in NON-pvp worlds which is 'ugly'. ok seriously, if thats the point of your pure then you suck :p go make a lvl3 skiller. preferrably with 9hitpoints.

2) it's costy. not everyone on runescape can afford summoning. if your bank is worth 10mil, dont go spending 8mil on summoning :p only train it if you can spare the cash. getting charms by ice burst/barrage = lots of money gone.

3) waste of time. gathering charms the slow way can consume quite some time, especially if youre already maxed. people rather pk/sw instead of train/collect charms. not many familiars are actually used to pk with.

theres waaaay more reasons to actually get summon so i'd say go for it :p

Well Vlooieneuker, about the "charm gathering", im not going to like kill the monsters that drop the most charms just to get them, i pick up random charm drops from slayer/other training that's all.

why complain about looking ugly. its the combat in pvp that matters, who cares if you have a higher combat in non-pvp/bh worlds, makes it easier to 1 click mosnters, makes other shit less agressive, and the famailars themselves are very useful
