Get 60 attack tbh, dds is much more reliable than maul, and claws are vicious.

I reccomend getting 60, since you can afford claws. Claws can be pretty beast.

Pk'ing is more fun with a mauler, but if you enjoy training skills like slayer, you may want to get 60. There is a gap of 3 combat levels between level 50 and 60. You shouldn't get above 60 as the godswords accurracy is about 1/10 to hit 62, and to get 75 you will get another 5 combat levels and you would have to battle 80 range + tanks with dragon bolts.
