Callum Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 As many of you know I work in northern Canada on a Oil & Gas Plant. As most Canadians know there was recently a major fire in that part of the country. Fort McMurray has been devastated by this wildfire, it currently covers over 88.000 hectares and has destroyed over 2000 homes in the city itself. My camp was based around 12km away from the fire so I had to deal with helping evacuees and the harsh smoke that covered our camp. I can luckily say that I was evacuated today as the winds were pushing the fire closer and closer to my camp/site. It truly was a heartbreaking experience, seeing all those people homeless, children and parents crying and looking so scared. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. At the same time the country has came together and are helping Fort Mac in there time of need. Anyways I am now back for 16 days (maybe longer) so you will see me around on Ts if you have any questions. I thought id make a topic to share this disaster and just show how close i was to getting my eye brows burnt off. Pictures: (From people around the area) Video
